Project Management Training
Offered by the LOS Organizers in partnership with International Learning Partners Canada
Project Management in Development (PMD Pro) is a specialised certification training for Project Managers working in the development sector.
The Leveraging Our Strengths partners offered this capacity building opportunity to the social service sector in Ottawa. The training is aligned with existing internationally recognized project management standards and includes components specific to the non-profit sector.
This certification is an important benchmark for continuous improvement. ILPC partners were engaged to officer this training from February 18-20, 2015 at United Way Ottawa offices. 27 Participants attended the training representing the following Ottawa agencies: Pinecrest Queensway CHC, Ottawa Community Housing, UWCO, Ottawa Police Service, Lowertown CRC, Social Rec Connect, Centre for Global and Community Engagement, Ontario Trillium Foundation, Volunteer Ottawa, Crime Prevention Ottawa, and Ottawa Child & Youth Initiative.
3 ILPC co-facilitators delivered the training (Don Sucalit, Hi, Monique, & Theo).
PMD Pro examination was conducted on the last two hours of Day 3.
Training results:
27 Participants too the sample examination before the training. The pass rate was 52%. 23 out of the 25 particpants passed the actual exam after the training. The post training pass rate was 92%. the highest score was 68 out of 75 and the lowest was 41.
